The prime object of this book is to identify clearly the possibilities for the rationalization of assembly. In this respect, an assembly-oriented product design forms the basis for both economic manual assembly and also the fundamental requirement for automated assembly. For this reason, particular emphasis is given to assembly-oriented product design.
